i located the "who needs harvard?' article in atlantic monthly in which... earlham college is indeed favorably mentioned as being a "little" school that produces more students who go on for doctorates than many elite "got to get in" schools such as harvard...
it is a nice comment, and one that earlham tells its candidates as well...
i did notice that my alma mater denison university in ohio was mentioned as one of those colleges one wants to get into, right below the elite elite schools... and in the same company as bowdoin and davidson... wow...
how nice...
