heaven vs. immortality

wesley snipes as "blade" in the trinity of vampire killers...surprisingly funny, touching in places... when the original vampire "he" offers a captured-hostage child immortality...the little girl, "zoey" counters the offer with: "i will go to heaven" and "my friends are going to kill you"...

i was struck by the mere mention of "heaven" in a film such as this...Posted by Hello

Not to be rude, but why would it surprise you?
Heaven is a concept open to many beliefs and groups. Each has its own version of it. But thats besides the point. I am more curious as to why it surprised you.

that's a good question... i am not sure; perhaps, because it seems to be such an issue in public settings at present... you know, children not being allowed to pray in school, people questioning whether "in God we trust" is appropriate for our money here in the usa, etc. perhaps, i was surprised that the word was allowed in the film in that the presence of heaven implies the presence of hell... and so many people deny the existence of hell even if they recognize heaven... thanks for asking...
