Who would have guessed that my husband of 27 years (plus!) would promise his son that he would pay for his college meal plan, and then not do it? On top of it, who would have thought that my son's father would then suggest that his son pay for it himself out of borrowed funds?
What sort of father risks his son's admiration in such a manner?

My husband has come clean; he has given our son a check made out to my son's college that will pay for the meal plan... the meal plan my husband had promised to pay for.
Now, hopefully as soon as the college gets the check, the hold on registration for spring semester will be lifted...
